Eek!!!!

Here's a simple card that I put together from some old Halloween paper I had lying around, Bazzill paper, nestabilities, ribbon and some super cute Halloween stamps I picked up at Stamp Asylum at their Halloween card crop.... such a fun night.

I was short of black paper so I used the piece I had cut the Spellbinder from and used it on the inside to from the image.

A simple card, but it was a fun way to use my Nestabilities.

Tim Holtz Halloween Tags!!

Well, Tim posted some Halloween tags on his blog and I thought... what a perfect chance to practice some techniques. So I copied several of his tags from his post and then made one of my own design.

Here is my original design. I used the distress ink handle to ink the tag with spiced marmelade distress ink and then added the mask and applied black soot. I stamped the spider web in Black Archival ink and made a charm using a fragment thagt was scuffed upwith sandpaper and then clear embossed the spider web onto it. I added a bit of Cinder Glimmer Mist and a Grungeboard spider. I'm very happy with how this came out.

Here is a tag that I recreated from a sample I saw that was made earlier this month from a class with Tim. The skull is made of UTEE. I found some plastic skulls at Michael's and made a mold and then melted clear UTEE and a small amount of black UTEE. Once the molded skull was cool I covered it in silver alcohol ink. Still waiting on a charm to hang from the bottom of the skull that has been ordered.

Welcome Fall!

This is the time of year that I miss New England desperately! The crisp air, the colored leaves, crunchy Macoun apples.... Oh I miss home this time of year. Now I am in TX, but these past few weeks we have had cooler than normal weather and many rainy days. The leaves aren't changing but at least it is a small bit of fall feeling.

I saw this idea on the Spellbinder's Blog to make a 3-d pumpkin using the Spellbinders Pumpkins Nestabilities. Loved the idea and thought how fun on a fall themed card. I also used an older Spellbinder's Shapeabilities set with the maple and oak leaves and acorn. LOVE that set! I cut and embossed the leaves, colored the stems using the spellbinder as a stencil with Colorbox Chestnut Roan Chalk. I then spritzed the leaves with Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist to give them a sheen and the large droplets that make them look more realistic.

It's been a long time since I've made this card and don't remember the paper I used, but love

Father's Day Card

I had so much fun making this card for my dad. It was a good chance to play with inks, metal and Tim Holtz Idea-ology. My dad loved the card which meant so much to me. I even had the opportunity to show this card to Tim Holtz himself when I took his class here in Dallas.

The background has a piece of copper sheeting that I ran through the Cuttlebug and then distressed using several earth tone alcohol inks. The calendar was stamped, embossed and then distressed using distress ink. The inside of the card was made using the gear masks and distress ink.
