Bluebonnet Card

Here is a card I just finished up tonight. I am going to give it to a lady from a group I meet with that is moving away. I figured bluebonnets were a good theme since she's moving from TX to CA. PLUS, it gave me the chance to use the new Flower Soft that I got a couple of weeks ago from Stamp Asylum. I also got this stamp from there.... oh okay, I also stole the whole idea from them from a sample they had on the counter at the checkout. BUT, it's such a cool idea. I had to make one. It also gave me the chance to use my brand new copic markers. I stamped onto the paper using Versamark Archival ink and then added clear embossing powder and embossed. It made it a lot easier to stay within the lines using the copics. I am really starting to get the hang of the blending technique. I see myself using copics frequently in the future. I love them!!!

It's hard to see the flower soft on the bluebonnets so I added a closeup of the flowers. I can't wait to find more uses for it.

Thank You Card

Here is a thank you card I put together for a local "Page in a Bag" contest. I was required to use all 4 of these buttons, the acrylic flower, the rub-ons, the blue swirl ribbon, and the pink and blue papers. I decided to make a card since that is my latest craze. Not my favorite creation, but it was fun to make. I tried to use as many techniques as I could. I used the cuttlebug to embose the pink Core'dinations paper and then sanded. I stamped and embossed the Thank You sentiment and added a metal flower behind the acrylic flower. I used alcohol ink on both and put the copper flower through the cuttlebug using swiss dots. To distress the buttons I applied alcohol ink to them as well.

Let me know what you think.

Bug Layout

This is a layout that I created for the May Page in a Bag contest at my local scrapbook store. This was such a fun page to put together. This is where I first used clear embossing powder. It gives such a different look and feel! I used it over each of the bugs that I stamped along with the BUGS title. The embroideries were designs that I picked and my mom (Cindy) embroidered using her Diamond embroidery machine. Thanks mom!!!

For those that don't know, this is a picture of my little nephew Ben doing something he loves to do... catch bugs to put in his bug box. I remember doing this as a kid myself so I love when he wants to go Bugging with his Ampy Jen!

Birthday Card

I had so much fun creating this card. This is the first I played with memory glass. I distressed the paper using the Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Browns and Worn Lipstick). I used silver tape around the glass and used copper and pearl alcohol inks to give it a distressed copper look. The flower design was on paper that I found at my local scrapbook store. Same with the ribbon - I LOVE this ribbon.

Sympathy Card

I had started this card as a way to use some new stamps and copic markers. I needed a sympathy card so I turned it into one.

Owl Card

When I first got the new Wild Card cartridge I couldn't wait to make the owl card. I used distress inks to give it a distressed look and used 3 different cuttlebug embossing folders on the envelope. The eyes are green glass beads I found in a jewelry clearance bin at Michaels.

It was a lot of fun to make and probably my favorite card so far.

Thank You Card

Here's a quick thank you card I put together. This is paper that I had been eyeing at Scrappin' Bunnies forever and I decided to just use it for something.
